How Do You Get Pruritus

A redevelopment project.

It 's a long history and exciting, one of Milan's Navigli, revealing the best spirit of Lombardy, in 1179, felt the need to carry water in what was already shaping up as the most important city of the Po Valley.

a story in development: first a small irrigation canal, then, with the Sforza, Fairway, until, in 1863 the third port in Italy and Europe in the thirteenth. In Milan there are still traces of the urban vision that so appealed to Stendhal: in the barns of the buildings in Visconti di Modrone, closed in the Basin, in San Marco, where the Grand Canal and from there went into dock embraced within the city walls in Spain.

A sign cumbersome, canceled in 1927 by the Plan Albertini, who considered urgent remedy the functional limits of what must surely be a fascinating city's river.

Today the canals and the Dock is still a place of attraction, thanks to the magic of water, character of the neighborhood Ticinese, with the market and its people, even with that "original" who now you can breathe here and maybe only a few other places in the city.

The events of recent years, with the consequent state of neglect and degradation together with the trivial non-compliance of rules on which to build a peaceful coexistence in cities, now put this place in the center of our attention.

For more than a year we are monitoring this area is approximately 60,000 square feet, fenced around the perimeter with a barrier that closes them for most of the views of citizens, but is easily crossed by thieves Square General Cantore who have done their inventory of stolen property (and their outdoor toilet) or by dealers Viale Gorizia, who use it as a hideout.

are brought to light the English walls, 800 blankets, and heaps of land along the towpath of the Southwest has resulted in a beautiful natural garden, now very rich and lush.

The trash abounds and our cleaning operations have not had anything, the dock is experienced as a landfill and will remain so until something is done that will bring to life.

projects are not complicated enough recovery simple and inexpensive in the spirit that has marked the history of this place.

It 's easy to understand, looking at the map of the city, the dock is a place of arrival and departure.

A kind of hinge between the inside and outside, between the city and the countryside. The Navigli a waterway and their towpaths are all passable on foot and by bicycle. From Turbigo, where the Ticino is still there, wild and brilliant, get Abbiategrasso, along the beautiful gardens of the villas through unspoilt villages, cut to the Park South, between the Cascine, fields, quarries, return to Naviglio Pavese Milan the following: who has never done not believe his eyes, so much beauty. Pity then arrive in the city, fumbling on the last meters of the towpaths and beat against a barrier that closes and leaves a space that once abandoned, however, was the final destination and place of reception and dining.

We interviewed ordinary people facing the dock, stunned by the beauty and decay: no one wants to pharaonic projects, museums or exhibition halls, improbable concert stages: work out of context of the neighborhood. People need things simple but practical, to fit them and the city.

We want to give back to the dock of its character by placing what is already there: we want to create a pedestrian and cycle path that runs around the entire basin, that is also an easy walk, with some bench on which stop to rest or read a newspaper, we want to create a deck suspended over the water, to the market, with a small gazebo where you can drink a coffee.

Nothing sensational, but simple and functional: when sites again become inhabited, when it restores dignity to the spaces raped by the rudeness and neglect, as soon as you take up the threads of a beautiful story that is already was written and just too long ignored, that's the beauty back.

This is what we want: to restore life and dignity to the dock.

HOW?

We believe in participation and involvement of citizens, as a condition of affection and responsibility.

Our project has a cost of about € 400,000. We want to launch a fundraiser linked to the 'virtual purchase "of a" piece "of the place: according to your budget (and passions) you can" adopt "one square meter of the bike path, a bench, a lamp; you can also set up a fund for park maintenance. May participate general population, but local shopkeepers and those who want to be part of a flagship project. Anyone will be remembered.
